Caustic Reality
"The Indigo Initiative"

Role:
Video Game Concept Artist

Being one of the first to join forces with Clinton from Caustic Reality on this indie project—my goal was to define the visual language that would set the stage for "The Indigo Initiative". We did this by first exploring the technology this in-game universe is build around, and then by defining some of the key assets that would take center stage of the story and player experience.

By building a strong rapport we were able to develop a system to work through the initial text briefs, through mood-board and sketches, to final asset turnarounds—ready for 3D modelling.

The first project was to figure out the technology that would populate this world. Showing the development process from the original mood-board to the final renders of the consoles, fusion battery, general accessories, and the central asset—the terminal.

The dimensional door was an anchor piece for the game and needed a mechanical breakdown as well as visual design. Here we looked into how the "Nexus Door" felt as a central game piece, just as much as how it looked.

As a 1st person FPS, the gun was a a key asset to develop—alongside being a center point for game mechanics. In this part it was important to not only design a cool looking gun, but something that could relay information back to the player and provide story progression.
